Lake Bullen Merri is an amazing clover leaf shaped crater lake just south of Camperdown in Western Victoria. It is almost 70 metres deep at present making it the deepest lake in Victoria, it's home to all kinds of water sports from fishing, water skiing, windsurfing and of course kayaking.
The Crater Lakes Region has plenty of volcanic rock formations and mountains, and lakes to visit, while you're here be sure to go up Mt. Leura in Camperdown to get a 360 view of the region.
The local towns such as Camperdown, Cobden, Colac, Timboon and Warrnambool pride themselves on fresh, quality produce, especially being in the heart of dairy country. You will find plenty of cheeses and other delicious dairy produce as well as the Camperdown brewery 'Red Duck' which runs the Cafe Provedore on the main street of Camperdown.
If you have extra time the Great Ocean Road is nearby, with Port Campbell just 40 minutes drive from Camperdown. The Otway Ranges also south and the Grampians National Park north of the race venue.
