Race day

Sunday 1st April 2012

Registration

Registration opens at 7:30am and closes at 8:30am, you will find the headquarters tent at the South Beach of Lake Bullen Merri. By 8:45am you should have all your equipment ready, kayak at the waters edge and be ready for a race briefing before a 9:00am start.

The Race

We are expecting the winning teams and super fast solo competitors at around 11:30am, we recommend you race fast to enjoy the spoils at the finish line. The local Lions club will organise a barbeque to satisfy the hunger and raise funds for local charities, and we will provide light refreshments and sponsors products for the competitors.

The event cut off is 5hrs, this allows plenty of time to complete the course, we recommend training to ensure you can do it. At 2:00pm the race director and timing staff will be in pack up mode, if you're still around you can help!

Logistics

One of the many benefits of this race is the logistics, it's so easy! Start, finish and all transitions happen in the same spot - so as long as you bring all of your gear and have enough time to set it up, you'll be laughing.

After the race

Presentations also occur at the same spot - logistical magic! So, after the race, hang around and watch a few other competitors finish, then take a load off your weary legs, sit on the grass, congratulate the winners, and hope you win a prize in the random prize draw.
